Social Welfare Action Alliance

The Social Welfare Action Alliance (SWAA), formerly the Bertha Capen Reynolds Society, is a national organization of progressive social workers dedicated to implementing the ideas of Bertha Capen Reynolds in their practice and to promoting social activism among Social Workers. Events sponsored by SWAA include: teach-ins, educationals, community service, and raising awareness among people of current issues that affect the social welfare of us all. As a member of a national organization, we have representation on the national steering committee and access to resources and publications. In addition, SWAA links Penn to the wider Philadelphia community and give us the opportunity to share our talents and resources.
